There are lots of wonderful ways to move ecstatically in Kaua'i!

Hula

Ancient, sacred dance of Hawai'i. So full of wisdom encodified in dance. Good for the body, mind, and soul. So many Halaus to choose from, each with their own Kumu and class schedules. Most open to new enrollment once a year, a little research will help you find the right one for you.

One of the many beautiful things about Hawai'i is that being in the middle of the Pacific, it forms a cultural bridge between the East and the West. Wisdom and knowledge from the Far East is represented abundantly here, including the energy work of the Internal Martial Arts. Ringo teaches Qi Gong warm-ups followed by Tai Chi practice twice a week.

Free Qigong with Ringo

Every Thursday from 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM at Kapa'a Beach, behind the Coral Reef Resort.

Focusing on the Rejuvenation Series & Golden 8 Series

Yoga

Everywhere, constantly.

There are so many gifted Yoga teachers on the island that an entire website could easily be devoted to them. Ask around and you are sure to find the right style, teacher, and schedule for your needs. Eagle at Pineapple Yoga is a good place to start in the Kilauea area.

Surfing

Everywhere, constantly.

Yes, surfing is a form of Ecstatic Dance and the Ocean is one of the most sacred teachers you will ever find. To get started, I recommend Titus's school. For a very reasonable fee, his instructors will not only get you off on the right foot, they'll figure out which foot is the right one for you! Plus, they're great cheerleaders and a small investment in learning how to stand on your board and read incoming waves is well worth it!

If you would like to be added to this list, just let us know!

And let's not forget these wonderful and influential Mideastern dancers on the mainland!

Kawakib is a superb instructor. If you live anywhere near Washington, DC, try her out!

Aleili has created a superb video on "Yoga for Bellydancers"

Shira provides a goldmine of information.

Delilah is a visionary dancer

Dolphina supports the goddess in all women
